EU Regulation 2024/886, which came into force in October 2025, ensures that instant bank transfers in Europe become more secure. Banks must check whether the recipient's name and IBAN match before the money is sent. Therefore, payments may now show VVRB (Vereinigte Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG) as the recipient instead of the merchant's name β as this is the bank that handles the technical processing of the "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL) transaction. This ensures that the payment remains secure and complies with the new EU regulations.
